What have you done NOW?

I’m certainly of the school of thought that everyone is entitled to more than one shot at 15 minutes of fame. Today’s my day, people!!!

My lovely girlfriend was scanning buzzfeed, that delicious little time-waster, as I was working away on my computer. She jumped up and said “Is this you?” and showed me her phone. Lo and behold, there I was in all my glory!

That’s right people, I’m on buzzfeed, the pinnacle of fame-dom! Talk about being up on your social media. I should blog more weird stuff.

I’m not even upset that I’m all the way down at number 18

The lovely people at buzzfeed got this photo from a post from my younger blogging days, when I used to go to Value Village with my favourite lunchtime-at-work shopper Sandra. Alas, those days are over, as I currently work from home, and Sandra has moved on to another job. I’ll have to ravage the thrift stores near home on my lunch breaks and see if I can dominate an ENTIRE buzzfeed post one day!

Oh, to have goals…

Anyhoodle – have a gander at me looking spectacularly awesome in a super cute t-shirt (when I was skinnier and more tanned). And have a fantastical day!

Check Buzzfeed often for more of me 😀

Meet the Martini Girls!

Looking for a beautiful girl that will make your evening bright? You need to meet the Martini Girls! These vivacious ladies all have something special to offer, and they can drink you under the table! Take any of these ladies out for a night on the town and you are guaranteed to be satisfied. Just keep bringing their favourite drinks (listed below) and you will experience a night you will never forget*

*Unless you black out, in which case you’ll probably forget. Not responsible for lost memories due to overdrinking.

Meet the Super O Selena
That’s not just a regular martini! It’s 3oz of liquor that you’ll be setting next to this firecracker all night. Super O Selena loves the nightclub scene and often wears dresses that get her confused with a disco ball. When you’re out with Selena, all you need is to train your laser pointer on her dress and you’ve got a light show on the go! Don’t forget her olive, or you won’t get your super O at the end of the night!
Meet Eeentyini Esther
Spice up Esther’s Eenytini martini with some cranberry juice, gin, and a blackberry. Esther is a little shy at first, but after 9 or 10 martinis, she’ll be hiking up her dress to boogie on the dance floor. It doesn’t look like it, but Esther is a sucker for old school rock and roll. Pop several twonies into the jukebox, put on some Stairway to Heaven, and pull Esther close for a slow dance you’ll always remember*
Meet Emerald Ella
Ella is a karate fanatic! Her favourite colour is green, and she loves to kick butt in and out of the dojo. Watch out for her dangerous moves when you order her an Emerald martini! It might be gone before you can utter your first pick-up line. Ella loves to drink, but what she loves even more is to tie you up before she makes her move on you. If you don’t mind a few bruises, don’t let Ella get thirsty – in the bar, or in bed!
Meet Long Kiss Goodnight Laura
The red Long Kiss Goodnight martinis you’ll be bringing her will match her dress! Laura insists on wearing red wherever she goes. She says it makes people love her. Play your cards right and you’ll get your own long kiss goodnight after shutting the bar down with this lush.
Meet Cigar Lover’s Cindy
Cindy loves living on the edge and is not your typical lady. She loves a good, manly martini, so make sure a Cigar Lover’s Martini is settled next to her hand all evening! Cindy adores jazz bars and dancing to fast music. Pour her another one, and maybe it will be your cigar she’s loving by the end of the night!
Meet Dirty Cowgirl Diana
You’ll be heading to your favourite country bar if you’d like to impress Diana. This cowgirl loves chocolate with her booze as much as she loves getting dirt on her boots! Send a few Dirty Cowgirl martinis Diana’s way and you might just ride off into the sunset with Diana. Send her a handful, and Diana will be riding YOU. Watch out for her horse whip!
Meet In and Out Iris
Iris prefers her liquor to be deep blue, just like the flower she was named after. Demure and mysterious explains Iris to a T. You’ll be begging for Iris to open up her flower for you and give you more! Keep the bartender making In and Out Martinis, and it’s likely you’ll be doing the ‘in and out’ later with this beautiful bloom.

I’ve been moving. I’ve been dawdling. I’ve been daydreaming. Finally, something new!

Where I used to live…

Dragonfly on my door frame
Just hanging out on the balcony and saw a dragonfly on my door frame.

Oh the poetic things you see… toilet paper dancing in the wind.

Row boat, bridges, and creepy ducks

This may be my last post using my Canon SD1400!

It has been so good to me over the last year!

I’m about to venture into the world of DSLR cameras, and will be purchasing one in the very near future – the Canon EOS T3i 🙂 So, faithful little SD1400, thank you for providing many quality images (and more to come) and for fitting into my pocket!

little row boat
I saw this little row boat by the water... cute
under the bridge
I liked the lines created by the bridge and shadows, and reflected shadows 🙂
creepy playground
I saw this creepy playground equipment and had to photograph it. This is quite possibly the scariest duck I have ever seen. Sooooo inviting to sit on!
smoke break
Smoke break area at the back of a restaurant. I just liked the look of it.
train bridge
Snapped this one while zooming over a bridge. I liked the contrast and the colours

Photo day – rummaging through my phone

Hello, dear reader. If you’ve been following my blog since the new year, you’re probably reading this and thinking “What is this crap, and where is the last part of the meditation series?” Well, I have a post planned for tomorrow that wraps up the entire experience – so you’ll just have to wait! I wanted to take a short break from all this meditation stuff and please your creative and silly side with some photographs! Stay tuned tomorrow for Dhamma – Part 7!

It’s fun to have my phone with me, because you never know when you will see something photo-worthy, or just plain weird! Every once in a while, I clean out the photos on my phone and flip through them. Often there are some fun ones in the stack that I forgot I had taken! Here are some of the best 🙂

Help stop the sneak thief!
I had to snap a photo of this sign. It reads "Help stop the sneak thief" and encourages people to lock their cars. What I love is the burglar hiding behind the brick wall!
That's some piece of meat
While shopping at Costco - the store where EVERYTHING is family sized - I saw this HUGE pork roast, and couldn't help but take a photo of it
Christmas Cactus in bloom
A pic I snapped of my Christmas cactus in bloom. This pot holds three plants - hence the colour difference in the blooms 🙂
Andy the octopus
I took a photo of Andy the octopus - a little guy I picked up at the one of a kind show. He's made from sweaters and socks!
Weapons - isn't it time you felt safe?
I pass this building on the way to and from work. One day I noticed a new sign on this building. It reads (In huge letters) WEAPONS. Underneath "Isn't it time you felt safe?" and beside it is a large cross. I still have NO idea what this is all about, but it's definitely interesting!
Fragile - handle like eggs
I saw this writing on a box and it struck me as oddly specific. No one would cut, tear, punch or damage an egg... so I suppose it works!
Men waiting while their women shop
I titled this "Men waiting while their women shop" I walked into a LaSenza and saw these two guys playing with their phones as their wives and daughters shopped...
Amisi the wonder dog
A cute picture of my friend's little Boston Terrier. She's a sweetie!

Plans and rants… or are they raves?

YAY! Post number two. So I am formulating a blog plan, based on my to-do list from yesterday.

I officially dub Wednesdays to be drawing day. All the drawings I have done all week will get scanned in and posted on Wednesday with commentary. I Officially dub Fridays to be photo day! Every day I will take 30 (or a bunch) of photos. Out of those, I figure I’ll pick top 8 or 10 and post them Fridays with commentary. FUN!

Other days I think I’ll just write something… like today:

OK. So stress. It’s really in the eye of the beholder. It’s all about survival – and what we’d do to survive. And it’s about how we look at what we need to do.

*how manageable is it?*

How do we react when only 7 out of 10 things on the list are accomplished and we have run out of time? This gets compounded with how much importance we put on the finished and unfinished tasks. It makes us CRAZY! We don’t need this stress!

So I suppose we need to accept what we can and cannot accomplish. Only if we are not doing our best, should we stress about our performance. If we are doing everything we can to get our tasks done, and we only get to 7 out of 10 on the list, we should be proud of those 7 tasks – not disappointed at the three we missed 🙂

My question is: What will be finished when we are dead? Will it matter? I guess what it comes down to is: I’m here! I might as well enjoy it!

So rejoice at your 7 tasks completed! (or even just one!)

Stress BEGONE!
